Presbyopia Correction
What is Presbyopia?
Presbyopia is one of the conditions associated with the natural aging process of the eye. Early in their 40’s, people find they have to start holding reading materials further from their eyes to see clearly. Eventually reading glasses and bifocals are required…until now.
During your cataract surgery, you can have the option to receive new IOLs that correct presbyopia. Presbyopia Correction is the most advanced technology that can minimize the need for reading glasses. By removing the natural “older” lens and replacing it with either a multifocal (ReSTOR, ReZoom) or accommodating (Crystalens) lens implant, patients will not be as dependent on their reading glasses. This procedure is recommended for people over the age of 45 who wear readers or bifocals.
